Nothing to a NAS

I did it. I completed my mission of going from a $6 computer case to a NAS server. Or, more accurately, from $6 and an old computer to a fully functioning NAS server.
So, here’s the deal: I managed to sell the old computer case for about $52 and my old computer for $255, which left me with around $307 to invest in building a home server. But that’s just a teaser for what you’ll see in my upcoming YouTube video (@emilhacking1337).
At first, things were slow. Selling anything took longer than I expected. The case was priced too high initially, and it turns out that buying old computer cases isn’t exactly in high demand. Then I remembered I had an old computer lying around, and figured I could sell it for at least a bit of cash. Surprisingly, I sold the computer before the case, and had to drop the case price way down before someone finally messaged me about it. I sold it to the first bidder…
But let me tell you, once that first item was sold, things started moving quickly. I found several potential computers for the server build and soon after, some extra storage HDDs. And now, my NAS server is up and running, though it turned out to be much harder than I initially thought. To get the full story and all the details, you’ll have to check out my upcoming video.
Stay tuned because the next projects will be related to my home server build, full stack development, and data recovery.
