Monday...

Writing this on a Tuesday, I’m hopeful you’ll approach this message with an open mind, perhaps more so than if it were Monday.

It seems everyone has heard of, or even contributed to, the widespread stigma surrounding Mondays. Phrases like ‘Ohh, it’s Monday again’ or ‘That’s just typically Monday’ are all too common. But why is this the case? Why isn’t there a phenomenon called ‘Tuesday’?

I’ve always wondered why we let the concept of ‘Monday’ dictate our feelings so powerfully. To me, it seems like another self-imposed barrier that negatively impacts our day before it even begins. The notion of ‘Monday’ takes hold in our subconscious, coloring the entire day with negativity, without us giving it much conscious thought.

I’m not here to change your mind or make you associate negativity with something new. My aim is to illuminate and possibly transform your perception of things. Reflecting on our habits and long-standing thought patterns can often reveal insights into the kind of person we aspire to be.

Ask yourself: Do you want to be someone who’s affected by the mere fact that it’s Monday again (a situation you’ll face every week), or do you prefer to be someone who takes control, refusing to let a day of the week determine your outlook or the quality of your day?

Let’s not allow ‘Monday’ to set the tone. Instead, we can choose to approach each day, including Mondays, with a fresh perspective and a determination to make the most of it, regardless of the date on the calendar.
